Welcome to the official site for the 2005/2006 Huntington Beach Junior Lifeguard New Zealand exchange trip!

On December 25, 2005 a select team of Junior Guards traveled to New Zealand to both learn and train with their Kiwi counterparts. Upon arriving in New Zealand the team was greeted by a welcoming committee from both the Tairua Surf Club and the Piha Surf Club.

For the next 12 days the HBJG's were on the move and treated to the sites, traditions, foods, history and most of all the people of New Zealand.

When questioned as to what the best part of the trip was, one JG quickly answered..."the family's and friends I lived with". The HBJG's were shown the time of their lives. First by the families of the Tairua Surf Club and then by the families of the Piha Surf Club. The hospitality of both of these clubs was incredible and we wish to give a hearty "thank you" to everyone that made the New Zealand Exchange 2005-06 a great success!

The CALENDAR section will detail when training meetings are scheduled and what is expected of each Jr. Guard for each meeting.
